A turn on the premium persona uses more of your allowance than one on the affordable persona — you pick where each runs under Persona quality. Presses too short to be speech aren’t counted.

Persona quality
The person you talk to in a live drill runs on one of two models. Premium is the most lifelike; affordable gets far more turns out of the same allowance. You can also change it from the tag on any lesson card.
Single-turn rounds run the affordable persona — she says one line and reacts once, which it handles fine. Multi-turn conversations get the premium persona, where staying in character actually matters — except the few conversations simple enough for her that the drill itself recommends affordable.
